List of Supported Missions

The ILRS supports laser ranging measurements to geodetic, remote sensing, navigation, and experimental satellites equipped with retroreflector arrays as well as to reflectors on the Moon. The quality of the SLR data depends on the compactness and symmetry of the array and the accuracy to which the satellite center of mass has been measured or modeled. Request for tracking support for new missions must be formally submitted to the ILRS Central Bureau (CB), reviewed by the Missions Standing Committee (MSC) and approved by the Governing Board (GB). The ILRS works with the missions to ensure both ILRS and mission requirements are met.
