Transportation
The most convenient airport to Annapolis is Baltimore-Washington International
(BWI), with many overseas connections through New York's JFK Airport.
Taxis or rental cars are available from the airport to transport travelers
to Annapolis. The BWI Super Shuttle is a service offered by BWI Airport.
Upon arrival at BWI, the Super Shuttle pickup can be found in the baggage
claim area on the lower level of the airport. Reservations are only required
for pickup from a hotel; a reservation is not required from the airport.
The cost from BWI to the Historic Inns is $19.00 one way, $30.00 round
trip. Reservations may be made between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. at 1-410-859-0800.
Two other airports service the Washington D.C. area, Ronald Reagan National
Airport (located in D.C.), and Dulles International Airport (located in
the Virginia suburbs). Both airports offer taxi and rental cars to Annapolis.
The Historic Inns are convenient to many local restaurants and attractions
in Annapolis. Therefore, a rental car is probably not required for attendees
of the workshop. However, valet parking ($12 per day per car) is available
for guests staying in the Historic Inns with overnight accommodations.
A loading zone is in front of the Governor Calvert House.

Excursion
An evening excursion to the Goddard
Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory (GGAO) is planned. This facility
is located about five miles from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).
GGAO is the home of pioneering research in many areas, such as the scientific
application of lasers, astronomy, and solar physics. GGAO is home to the
IGS permanent GPS receiver (GODE), several satellite ranging (SLR) systems,
the MV-3 VLBI system, and a PRARE antenna. Demonstrations of many of these
systems will be conducted during the evening. Transportation to and from
the Annapolis hotels will be provided.
