Maryland State Capitol Building in AnnapolisThe workshop venue is located in the heart of Annapolis, the state capital of Maryland, and is known as America’s Sailing Capital. The city is located near the Chesapeake Bay and situated between the cities of Washington D.C. and Baltimore Maryland.

Airports

The most convenient airport to Annapolis is Baltimore-Washington International (BWI), with many overseas connections. Taxis, airport shuttles, or rental cars are available from the airport to transport travelers to Annapolis. Two other airports service the Washington D.C. area, Ronald Reagan National Airport (located in D.C.), and Dulles International Airport (located in the Virginia suburbs). Both airports offer taxis, shuttles, and rental cars to Annapolis.

Hotels

A block of rooms has been reserved at the workshop venue, the Historic Inns of Annapolis, for the nights of October 26 through 30, at a rate of $121 plus tax, which is the current prevailing government lodging per diem rate in the Annapolis area. The Historic Inns are located at 58 State Circle, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. See the Venue section for more information about making a reservation at the Historic Inns.

The Historic Inns are convenient to many local restaurants and attractions in Annapolis. Therefore, a rental car is probably not required for attendees of the workshop. However, valet parking is available for guests staying in the Historic Inns with overnight accommodations. A loading zone is in front of the Governor Calvert House.

Maryland’s state capital is an historic city that offers visitors a variety of activities. The city is located on the Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the U.S. Known as America’s Sailing Capital, Annapolis is home to the United States Naval Academy. Numerous restaurants, quaint shops, historic attractions, and waterfront are all within walking distance of the venue.
